Out on the tiles

Never, ever do anything by halves.  If you're going to live your life you have to do it while you can.  Which is why I've spent the last three weeks going out with friends.  I'm not going to be including any photos of me dancing. drinking and taking selfies.  You know why... They're bound to materialise at a time when I don't want them to.  Like the job I did pretending to be a benefit cheat.  I just know some people can't separate fact from fiction.  The sight of me giving it some welly to a song will appear just as someone googles me to see my work.

I am still on the hunt for more agencies, those that will allow me to freelance where I can.  I have a theory that agencies give good work to their newest signings or maybe I'm just restless enough to want to believe that.  The size of agency is no guarantee of amount of work.  There are small agencies who go the extra mile to ensure we get good bookings, rather than open castings.  When you get requested for a casting, of course, you have a much higher expectation of securing the job.  Whenever I join an agency I need new photos, and I start thinking I need a new look - my complexion changes with the weather.   The always-be-prepared ethos means I have to keep buying single colour staple wardrobe items which travel well.  I will never ever have enough make up on standby to play with all the looks I want to create.  I almost decided to join MAC for their loyalty discount, but it seems like such a long process to get signed up.

Sometimes models can wait a very long time to be paid, 60 to 90 days and even then it's not like clockwork.  To juggle so many agencies means repeating the same details over and over, and they have to be in the format required.  Sometimes I'd just like to hand them a card with my measurements and bank details on it, and not have to handle the admin side of it at all.  It's just dull.

I've done a little of my 'other' job working with small children, so I occasionally get to cuddle babies in the middle of the week.

This weekend see if you can spot where I've been on a fun day surrounded by people dressed as Marvel and DC characters... Not too hard to guess is it?
