Sometimes people who have always had success and money/privileges don't need to try. I suppose they have more time to reflect on what makes them tick, or what they feel they lack, but they don't spend a huge amount of time trying to get to the next level. I'm leaving US presidents out of this, as some of them aspire to leave a legacy and some, well... seem to have issues about making the most noise.
I don't come from a wealthy family, did you guess? So I've always had ambitions and things to tick off my list. My mum spent a long time working and learning new skills, also not having been born with a silver spoon. We had a family tree to look at and while that's interesting in some ways, it doesn't answer what it is about me that makes me want to conquer new fields and get to the top of whatever I've chosen to do. It may be ballet training which taught me that we can always try a little bit harder to get to the level we want. I'm forever restless.
Last year I was involved in a pilot for a TV series, which was a bit Brexit-y in it's tone. I did wonder if it would ever get released as I imagined families all over the land coming to blows about the differences in how they'd voted. I kept the photos back in case the show ever caught on and I got told off about spoilers, but I had a feeling it wouldn't. There's now no trace of it on the internet, so I hereby present proof.
I think you can see how cold we were, filming in an unheated disused town hall. I'm meant to be someone obtaining British Citizenship. So many of these series are filmed in eerie and freezing buildings and I am susceptible to the cold. No one ever really can guarantee whether anything will catch on, so you turn up and do your work to the best of your ability. Looking forward to the next thing and having as much fun as we can in the meantime. It was really difficult on Sharknado 5, as we worked really hard, going into overtime, and then the client withheld payment to us. Our poor agent had a terrible time with both sides threatening all manner of penalties. I was about to write that off as a waste of filming time, when I received remittance advice. Tenacity pays off.
I've moved on to taking fitness and pilates classes in the West London school where I help out, although I'm on a two week half term right now. I really feel like I need a spa day as well, as my body is under constant scrutiny when I do fittings (a 360 photo of me in a vest and leggings is in existence) and I've signed up to an additional fittings agency. I've done two successful fittings castings and was also really pleased to have landed another two lingerie modelling jobs.
In order to save time, I've incorporated jogging and power walking into my trips to the allotment. Pulling up beetroot and harvesting the pumpkin ready for our costume hallowe'en get together was the latest stage. As I've said before, the late start on the allotment means that everything is a little smaller than I wanted it to be. But allotments teach patience and an understanding how sometimes the work and not the harvest is the reward. I had to take the pumpkin a little early as there has been some thefts from the plot and I really don't want to lose it. I only have one. Will plant for for next year. And will start from scratch on the main crops again.
Daughter has once again asked for a lizard for Christmas. I am running out of excuses of why we shouldn't have one. I suspect she's learned from me the broken record approach and it seems I've met my match on trying again and again until the desired result is reached.
I hope our reptile is photogenic, as I see an instagram post coming on.
