A tight fit (and how to keep it that way)

Don't get any kind of ideas about my punning title.  I know you don't realise how I suffer for your sakes.  I'm such a martyr.  My foray into fittings modelling means that I HAVE to stay the same size all the time.  Not a problem, you may think.  But you'd be wrong.  In the summer I am naturally more likely to go swimming and walking which knocks off a few pounds, but this is not beneficial to my work.  My measurements have to remain stable.  So, I have to eat.  Can you imagine the hardships of me tucking into carrot cake, or a lovely sandwich mid-afternoon while you're all desperate to get home and have your evening meal.

The torture!  Here's a mid-afternoon treat from last week.  My daughter comes along to check the Croque Monsieur is up to standard.

When I heard I was doing a fitting for a company I hadn't previously worked for, I decided to do some digging.  Heist was the name of the firm, and a quick google showed me that it was a mens' urbanwear brand.  I imagined myself in a peaked cap with a hoodie, looking as though I was going to do a work out in the park - in place of my usual exercise which is dancing all round the floorspace at home.   I deliberately don't have a coffee table so that I have a dance floor in the middle of my living room.   It's like Flashdance in there on a Sunday afternoon.

Later discovered it was Heist hosiery and not Urbanwear at all, so I spent the time trying on soft touch luxury tights with no seams - knitted in one piece.  The waistband and toe areas were being perfected.  I must say these were the most comfortable tights I've ever tried, and I'll definitely be getting these when wearing a skirt for a function.

My other non-regular fit this month was Monsoon.  I love the clothes so it doesn't feel like a job at all.  River Island is my regular fit.  I bought an absolutely beautiful River Island vintage look tiered strap top for my daughter.  She loves yellow and suits it in a way that lots of people can't so she has it in mustardy yellow.  I keep looking at it hanging up and imagining what sort of time it will have when it's out and about.  Some clothes really do seem to have a soul.

I had lines to learn for an upcoming job.  My last commercial was an ad for Now TV where I was reacting to a naked man.  I'd been waiting a while to see the finished ad but to my surprise, a large section, including my part is not shown in the ad I've seen.  I suspect the naked man may have had something to do with it.  Perhaps a creative decision was made to move away from that image.   I'm sure you can imagine the sort of faces I pulled anyway.

For everyone that loves to take selfies, I am not sure I am a fan of it, but have to keep my photos refreshed for websites and agencies, so take just as many as all of you on social media.  My instagram gets the ones not used on the websites.

I tried on some ridiculously high heeled fluffy mule type sandals in purple while I was in Canary Wharf.  Gone are the days when I would have been compelled to buy them and never wear them.  I can put them back on the rack nowadays.  That's maturity, possibly.    Because Canary Wharf is so near to where I'm based, I seldom really need to think about going on a shopping trip, it's just all nearby and a bit of window shopping retail therapy is easier than it used to be.   My daughter and I tried new fragrances before looking out across the Thames and realising how lucky we are to be based somewhere so diverse.  I can photograph an industrial area one minute and walk through a floor fountain near Tower Bridge the next.

Happy Bank holiday to all of you who have one.  Let's hope for more lovely weather.
